Hype the SPOOK ??

I don’t remember how it started but we started to talk about ghosts. I went on a Department trip to Balangoda. Not even half an hour in to the journey the topic was Ghosts and the supernatural. We wanted to watch a Horror movie but ended up watching “See no Evil” which was another genre and we watched it in the morning. Hope I can put up some pics of the trip. (I’m very bad at uploading pics. Still my Facebook profile has the thundering Question Mark for the Photo)

Interesting topic. Actually one guy said he saw ghosts and even his mom sees ghosts. Well I’m yet to see one. But I’ve heard so many stories about them. Some do rounds in the Gardens at night. Some hurt people. Some evil spirits are bound to people. So many stories about the Borella Kanaththa. Then someone said that a particular school used to be a military hospital in WW2. And the boarder’s toilet had been the place where there were tubs to wash the dead bodies. The sound of the water dripping to the tubs can still be heard. I think they were referring to my school. But I haven’t heard about it while I was there. However the area where the school is situtated did have a Military Hospital during the war.

One story which I believe is credible was from a preacher. He, with some others were praying in a house to cast out a an evil spirit which haunted the house. They had ordered the spirit to break a branch of the Mango tree in the Garden when he’s been cast out. After hours of prayers, Sharp at 12.00 midnight …. they heard a loud Hooting……. followed by a ‘Crack’ noise. To see a branch had been broken from the Mango tree. While I was typing this post (it was in the night) I heard someone knocking softly at the window….. It was my Aunt….

Then the discussion turned toward faith healing, casting daemons, miracles etc. Each person tried to give an explanation. Me, like a Pandithaya told “well whatever you believe in happens in your mind, and then… it materializez” wow where the hell did that thought come from ?? Everyone seemed convinced. Fooof !! I just spilled it outa the blues.

MaWWWWWH

Ever heard a Cow howl in agony for the loss of her calf ?? That’s something I just cannot bare. Coupla days before, similar thing happened. There’s a repairing of a culvert going on close to my place. Throughout the night, with the aid of Spots illuminating the whole area, work goes on. The “BRRRRR” sound of the generator and the noise of the trucks are deafening at times. One night I heard a different noise. I knew it, yes it was a cow.

This time, it had lost its way. Since the construction is going on no one can cross that area. Only a dangerous, one foot wide pathway is available for people to carefully walk by. This innocent creature was searching for the road which treads on so frequently, not aware of the construction, or the existence of the small pathway, the entrance to which was partially blocked by a huge truck.

I dunno what happened afterwards. I sincerely hope it found its way using another road. Who knows it must’v been hungry and wanted to get home, or worst case, looking for the calf. There was no way someone could guide it through the narrow pathway, or ask it, what the problem was. Have we created hell for animals who are equal owners of the earth. Only difference I know is that Human Beings have a conscience.

The Last of It

Hell I was tagged again. This time by the Lady. This is the last of it. NO more Tags on me. Last time Miss Darwin tagged me I was furious and almost swore at her. Now yoooo.... GRRRrrr....FffWthokrFkgHrrrr.... u.. I hate the tags.

Anyhooo....

1. I believe I was put on this earth for a purpose (which I still haven’t figured out) and I would like to leave this place as a better person Than I was when I came to it.

2. I love the great out-doors. Yeah Nature…. and Camping. Out in the open, in the jungles and under starry skies is a feeling like no other. Those are experiences of a lifetime. Recently, an Elephant charged at us while observing them at Kaudulla, Habarana. But it was fun.

3. I have a Temper. Would shout, scream, be aggressive….. and get myself injured. Heh heh….But after that, its gone. NO Poison Trees. NO hidden bad feelings in the long term.

4. Pests annoy me. Simply because I need the peace of mind of being alone at times. Seeking Solitude !!

5. NO one special. Everybody means something special to me in their own special way.

6. Women…. Yeah generally attracted to Slim, Fair, Smart chicks. Not strictly though.. Flexibility is always an option as far as the inside is beautiful. Errr…. I mean the personality.

7. Don’t party often, if not at all. Not a necessity to take a shot. Only at precious priceless moments. I’m an ordinary man, and the common drink of ours would do. (Reserve, Reserve) Wouldn’t mind a prestigious shot though if offered.

Well… I’m not gonna give anybody trouble by Taggin ‘em…. Will end it here. Sorry Tagger-maniacs..... Aaaand Sloth, Darwin, Spectral, Child, Definition, Rasti, Dilsiri. Thank me for NOT tagging you......... you’re Welcome !!!!

History....Re-think ??

First time I'm posting two at once. Maybe due to the drought of posts in the recent past. Anyway here goes....

I heard an opinion on how our country got to the state we are in. Supported by statistics, It is clear that since the British left, the exchange rate (take US$ and GBP for instance) increased with sudden rises in the 60s and 70s. Basically the people who ruled the country ruined it because of their greed for power, ego and money. All of them. It is a fact that our country was ruled by a few wealthy high class families. Still is (maybe not the current leader). And all the booming businesses were handed to the relatives, friends and associates. Our grand parents’ generation would have led a quality life as they enjoyed the immediate good quality of life left by the British, even an ordinary citizen who worked in the civil service. But not the current generation of ordinary people. (I’m just unfolding this opinion, I’m yet to agree with it but the facts are true.)

It goes on to say that our struggle for freedom was not the one that brought about our freedom. But since the British had no reason to stay here after giving independence to India, they left giving independence to Sri Lanka as well. Which makes Mahatma Ghandi the orchestrator our own independence as well. This is alarming but if it is the truth, its damning. Even the rebellions that came along were a single person’s objective (dishonest of course) actioned by the youth who believed the leaders were genuine. Our country seem to have a fine line of traitors (most of them in the higher planes of society at those times) who changed their religion(for individual and political gain), who betrayed the kings and also tipped off the ordinary people’s rebellions such as Weera Puran Appu, Gongaley Goda Banda and the brave Buddhist Monks, to the British.

Enough for now I will continue this discussion in future as there are so many strings attached to this. Also it goes on to rethink our history. I kept it very brief as I'm stuck for time. I’m definitely gonna research more on this.

Say What U Wanna Say

Have this happened to you or am I the only unlucky soul experiencing this. I say what I don’t wan’t or should not have said, sometimes the total opposite of what I had in mind. Terrible communication problem. Has lightning struck my wires ?? Thing is, thoughts don’t come quickly to my head. So to keep the conversation going I say something. Hell, I can’t look blank. Once, I was asked what my hobbies were. I eneded up uttering some crap although after some hours I realized I’ve got some interesting hobbies (including Blogging) and should have mentioned those. Creepeeeee…Spookeee…

Then the eventuality, People get the wrong impression about me. (Like I can stop it.. heh heh….) That’s something I hate. But I feel I should not give it so much mind. Just be myself. Its tough to be myself sometimes. Worst part is if they think I’m wiered. The fact that I stick to my guns most of the time makes me a bit different and might add to the weird notion. Awww…. What the…

I don’t get to scan the blogsphere very often like I used to. I miss it because I miss the freedom and the carefree, commitment free atmosphere in it. Say what u wanna say, just like that. Even if I utter crap, no issues.
